We are a Portuguese metalworking company, set up in 1954, carrying on the business founded by Joaquim Almeida in 1911.

Therefore, today, we can rightfully claim that JVAL has 100 years of uninterrupted manufacturing experience.

JVAL focuses mainly on 2 ranges of business: Hardware and Turned Parts.

HARDWARE

JVAL manufactures, since its very beginning, locks and other hardware, mainly for building and furniture industries.

These items are sold under our brand JVAL, which is well known in the marketplace and renowned by both its quality and reliability.

Nowadays JVAL hardware includes a range of 235 different products, which can be manufactured in different materials and finishings, thus amounting to different 1239 items, as you may check in here attached catalogue.

Thanks to the high quality level of our products, JVAL has 488 active customers in Portugal and it has also succeeded in building a sound network of loyal foreigner customers, mainly from the European Union.

TURNED PARTS

In 1958, JVAL broadened its range of business to include the manufacture of high precision turned parts, produced on automatic lathes, mainly to customer specification.

This precision work gradually developed to the point where it now accounts for half the company’s total turnover.

This has been achieved through our ability to maintain an excellent price / quality ratio, which has allowed us both to build customer loyalty and to expand our customer base, which is now largely made up of internationally-recognised corporations.

JVAL is an EN ISO 9001:2015 certified business, audited by TUV RHEINLAND, our primary quality target is zero customer complaints. Although this is an ambitious goal, we have managed to attain it over the years.

These results have been achieved due to our demanding quality management system and our highly qualified workforce.
